£30,000 – £35,000 per annum, plus company car (VW Golf)  OTE £55,000
Monday to Friday, 08:30 – 17:00


My client is a leading and well-established provider of waste management and resource solutions. Due to growth, they are looking to recruit a motivated and results-driven Business Development Manager. With operations across the UK, this position presents an excellent opportunity for a field-based sales professional to develop a rewarding and long-term career.

The role:

Reporting directly to the Sales Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for managing a defined geographical territory within the Swindon area. The primary focus of the role is to generate new business by promoting the companies comprehensive portfolio of waste services to both prospective and existing clients.
The successful applicant will benefit from dedicated appointment-setting support, but must also demonstrate confidence and initiative in prospecting, including through cold calling and door-to-door canvassing.

The role:

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the assigned territory
  • Attend pre-arranged appointments and self-generated meetings to present service offerings
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring a high level of service delivery
  • Negotiate pricing and service agreements with decision-makers
  • Manage your own schedule and work autonomously within the field
  • Accurately calculate costs and prepare tailored proposals for customers
  • Maintain up-to-date records and utilise Microsoft Excel to track activity and performance

The candidate:

  • Have recent experience in B2B field sales, preferably within a service-led environment
  • Demonstrate excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
  • Be self-motivated, well-organised, and capable of managing own workload and diary
  • Be confident in face-to-face interactions, including unsolicited approaches to potential customers
  • Possess strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Microsoft Excel
  • Exhibit a professional, consultative approach to selling and customer relationship management

In return:

  • Basic salary of £30,000 to £35,000

  • Realistic on-target earnings of £55,000 or more
